01 / How we help

Make room for
better questions.

Understand the coverage you have. Talk through what matters to you. Explore options without committing to a change.

Ask Life Insurance Questions

Have your policy or coverage summary nearby. Discuss the information you provide and the questions that matter to you. We cannot retrieve your carrier account or confirm its official status.

Understand Coverage Terms

Talk through benefits, limitations and terminology shown in your documents. Your policy and the insurer’s records control coverage; our agency cannot make a carrier coverage or claim decision.

Explore Available Options

Ask about life insurance products an agent is licensed and authorized to offer. Availability, eligibility and pricing vary. A conversation does not change or cancel your current policy.

Speak With a Licensed Agent

You reach My Policy Help Desk’s licensed insurance agents, not the carrier’s customer-service department. We discuss life insurance questions and available options; account transactions and claims belong with the carrier.

02 / The conversation

Real questions.
A person to talk to.

You speak directly with our licensed insurance agents—not Ethos’s customer-service department.

  1. Tell us what you want to understand.

Bring your coverage questions and the policy information you have available.

  2. Talk through your questions.

An agent discusses life insurance terminology and the information you choose to provide.

  3. Consider your next steps.

Discuss available insurance options, with no obligation to buy. A conversation does not change or cancel your policy.

Your policy purchased through Ethos

Understanding a policy purchased through Ethos

Ethos describes itself as a licensed insurance agency, not the insurance carrier. For a policy purchased through Ethos, identify the insurer and product named in your documents before reviewing benefits or choosing a servicing channel.

Need official account service?

Use the official resources appropriate to your insurer and product for account services. My Policy Help Desk is separate from Ethos and your insurer.

Your coverage questions

Understanding a policy purchased through Ethos

Start with the contract you actually have. These general explanations do not confirm an individual policy’s status or benefits.

Which insurance company issued your policy?

Ethos works with multiple insurers. For a policy purchased through Ethos, locate the issuing company and product name in your documents. Then identify the death benefit, premium, coverage duration and any limitations. The Ethos name alone does not establish every policy’s terms. Our agency can explain life insurance terminology and discuss available coverage options; your insurer confirms its contract and records.

  • Find the full legal name of the issuing insurer.
  • Match the product name to that insurer’s policy documents.
  • Use insurer-specific instructions for official servicing or claims.

Policy documents, portal access and claims

Use Ethos’s official policyholder resources for document access and payment-management guidance. Follow the policy’s insurer-specific instructions for a claim. My Policy Help Desk does not operate the Ethos portal or the insurer’s service systems. For a conversation about coverage options, have the issuing company, benefit summary and your questions available—without sharing account credentials.

Before your Ethos term coverage period ends

If your policy purchased through Ethos is term life, find the end of its level-premium period and any renewal schedule before assuming the current price and benefit continue. Ethos’s term-end guidance describes changes in premium and coverage at renewal; your issuing insurer and contract establish what applies to you. Our independent agents can discuss coverage terminology and available options, but cannot renew or alter the existing policy.

Before you call

A few things
worth knowing.

Clear answers, from the start.

Is this Ethos customer service?

No. Calls reach My Policy Help Desk’s licensed insurance agents. We are an independent agency, not Ethos. We discuss life insurance questions and available options; we cannot access carrier accounts, take carrier payments, change carrier records or process claims.

Is Ethos the company that insures every policy it offers?

Ethos is an agency, not the insurance carrier. Your policy identifies the issuing insurer. Our independent agents can discuss information you provide, but cannot access Ethos or insurer accounts or perform their policy-servicing transactions.

Does every policy purchased through Ethos work the same way?

No. Ethos works with different issuing insurers and products. The brand you used to apply does not by itself establish your policy’s duration, premium guarantees, riders or limitations. Use the issuing company and product printed on the contract to identify the relevant terms and official service instructions.

Can My Policy Help Desk retrieve my Ethos policy or submit a claim?

No. Use Ethos’s official policyholder resources and the instructions from the issuing insurer for documents, account access or claims. Our agents can discuss general coverage questions and available options, but do not act as Ethos’s service department or as the insurer’s claims administrator.

Does a level premium mean my Ethos policy costs the same for life?

Not necessarily. Ethos says premium guarantees depend on the product; a level premium on term insurance applies during the stated term, not automatically for life. Check the premium schedule and what happens afterward in your own contract. The issuing insurer must confirm your policy’s terms; our agency cannot guarantee a renewal price.

Is renewing term coverage the same as converting it?

No. Renewal extends term coverage under the contract’s renewal provisions. Conversion, if included, permits a move to eligible permanent coverage with the existing insurer and may have its own deadline or age limit. Applying for a different insurer’s policy is not that contractual conversion. Do not assume your policy includes either option; ask the issuing insurer to confirm.

Can I ask about additional coverage without cancelling my policy?

Yes. A conversation with our agency does not change or cancel your coverage. Ask whether keeping your current policy and adding coverage could fit your needs. A replacement may involve new underwriting, costs or benefit limitations. Do not cancel existing coverage just because you have applied for another policy; confirm the new policy and its effective date first.

What should I compare besides the monthly premium?

Compare the death benefit, how long coverage lasts, whether premiums can change, any initial benefit limits, exclusions and riders. For a policy with illustrated values, distinguish contractual guarantees from non-guaranteed projections. Your documents and the issuing insurer establish the terms; an advertised price alone is not a complete comparison.

Is there any obligation to buy?

No. You can ask life insurance questions without committing to buy or change coverage. If you choose to explore another policy, ask about its costs, eligibility requirements and coverage terms before deciding.

What should I have ready for the conversation?

Have your policy or coverage summary and the questions you want to discuss nearby. We work from information you provide; we do not log in to carrier accounts. Do not share account passwords or one-time security codes.

Can you check a payment, policy status or claim?

No. Contact your carrier using the details on your policy or its official website for payment confirmation, official policy status, account changes and claims. Our independent agency can separately discuss life insurance questions and available coverage options.
